This Valentine's Day I want to say...

Hi guys!

I hope everyone is having a great day on the 14th of Feb!
I have heard so many people expressing their sadness and disappointment for not having a date on Valentine’s Day.

To be honest, I have never spend Valentine’s Day with a boyfriend at all. And I am not feeling any less on this very special day.

I believe that Valentine's Day is not just for couple.
If you think about it, it actually a day to show how special someone is.
That someone can always be your mum, dad, sister, friends. It doesn’t really necessary have to a boyfriend or a girlfriend.

That special someone can be you too!
Treat yourself to good stuff like food.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy watching this video. As usual hit the share button to share this video. Subscribe to my channel for more awesome stuff!

BYEE! See you again!

(YOUTUBE) She's different | A Valentine's Day Video

Hello guys!

Let's discuss a little bit more together about my recent Youtube Video. If you have not seen it, here it is:

In this short film, we witnessed a lady, at age 22, still going around doing her yearly Valentine's Day routine, giving out flowers to people who is nothing more than a stranger. Many of us will not have the time or thought to go about keeping this routine for 12 years. That a side, roses are expensive gift too. She didn't just gave it to couple, but she also gave it to individual on the streets.

Why did she do it?
Let's go deeper together and understand this young lady a little more.

Background:
She is single-handedly brought up by her mother and she doesn't have any sibling. Even though, she pretty much spent her days alone, she always bump into happy couples and people almost everyday. She saw them in dramas, in videos, on the bus and at shopping malls.

She feels envious and happy for people who get to specially celebrate and spend such special occasions with their other half. She didn't had anyone, not even her mother because she is too busy working overseas and she hardly see her. No one ever gives her any roses or flowers of sort on special occasions like this.

So she thought to herself that since she couldn't quite had the chance to experience such joy and happiness of receiving flowers, she wants to try her best to let others like her to have the chance to experience them.

She thought: "Why not do something nice on Valentine's Day? Why not give something meaningful to someone? Meaningful gift like rose."

Well, what goes around come around. ;) Including the good stuff...
So do more good to others. Do a little something for people everyday.

Now, let's talk about what goes on behind the scene.

Pre-production:

I missed quite a number of bus stops and MRT stops almost every single day to work because I was endlessly on my phone.
Thankfully, I had awesome people around me who are willing to help! Very very thankful!
Without them, this video wouldn't have make it and I wouldn't have been able to share such wonderful message to my audience!

The actual shoot:

We were caught up in bad weather and really had bad ambience. We literally ran 2 times from the heavy rain, looking for shelters. All we had in mind at that time, was to protect all the equipments & props that were with us. I was so worried about the camera & audio equipments when the merciless rain suddenly attacked us. No warnings were given by Ti Gong Peh (God). Sigh. It was super challenging because all shots and plans were being forced to change at last minute due to the terrible weather.

And guessed what, we had 6 Esplanade security guards with us for the last few footages at about 12 am. Well, they are not there to protect us from the rain. They are there to get a part in the video...

I am just kidding. LOL! You know what security guards do right? Other than protecting and guarding, their profession actually also includes chasing people out. ;) Oh well, we do what we can!

Post-production:

I nearly died.
Magics were done in post-production when you have so much missing audios.
Color corrections is a killer as well.
Cuts of footages and syncing of audio are done at my best as well.
~3 days of 2-3hrs sleep are worth it in the end.

Yeah, fell sick twice in a month. *CLAPS* New achievement unlocked. lol.

SUCCESSFULLY uploaded the video.

Guess what?
On the day itself, I realised 2 consecutive spelling mistake. I think sleepy monster had succeeded in it's job to make me type diary as dairy. I even had my creative to my max to cover this little error. LOL! Like for example: I named my diary as dairy because I love to drink dairy products like milk.

Which is true! HAHAHAA.

But yeah, I decided to stop being lame and rushed down from my last show to at least get the subtitle right.
AND, at last, it made it on time on Youtube. Thank you so much to those who play a part in the making of this video! Big love to every single one of you!

It's my first Valentine's day short film and my 2nd short film on my Youtube Channel. I hope you guys enjoy it and remember to do a little something good everyday, not just on special occasions!

If you like it, do remember to hit the subscribe and thumb up button~ It would also help a lot to spread something meaningful to other by sharing this post or the video.

In the mean time, let's chill, relax and enjoy the rest of our week!
Stay tuned for a new video this coming Monday, 29th Feb 2016, 8PM.

P.S:
Valentine's Day is a special occasion whereby everyone express their love to their special ones. It doesn't have to necessary be just couple. So do your little magic to the individuals to make them feel special too~ OH! By the way, I see a lot of people using Happy V-Day. Well, technically, it is correct because V-Day also falls on 14th Feb. The only difference is, it is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls started by author, playwright and activist Eve Ensler. For those who didn't know, now you know. ;)

14th February is truly a meaningful day to remember.

GP batteries Singapore's F Series Powerbank

Hello everyone!

It's been very long since I posted a blog post. I have just came back from Bangkok with lots of clothes and I hope you guys manage to watch my Bangkok Haul on my Youtube Channel! I will be doing a giveaway soon as promise!

During my Bangkok trip, I have been trying to look for a phone charger because my older charger that can charge up to 3 times, spoilt. :( I brought one back and was told I could charge up to 3 times. But in the end, I can only charge 1 time and 1 time is just not enough for people like me who uses the phone a lot. I need at least a charger that can charge up to 2 times.

Well, I am sure someone heard me. ;) So I recently received a 5000 mAh charger (FP05M, S$29) from GP batteries Singapore. :D Apparently, when I received it, it was already fully charged :D. Super happy and the best part is I can use it to charge my iPhone6s for 2 times!

(P.S: I also love my watermelon cover a lot! :P)

One of the thing I like about FP05M charger is that it automatically stops charging when your phone is fully charged and it has an over-temperature cut-off during power bank charging so that it won't overheat or something you know.

Here are some of the benefits found in GP batteries Singapore's FP05M charger:

Safer to use:
- Over-temperature cut-off during PowerBank recharging
- Complies with UN38.3 air transport safety standard

Faster than usual charge:
- Speedy recharging
- Fast charging- it charges my phone to full battery super fast

Smarter:
- Compatible with IOS and Android smartphones and many other USB devices
- It has intelligent power modulation which automatically switches between input voltage when travelling.
- Plano-concave dual front design for curved-back and flat-back devices

Longer battery life:
- Shields against over charging, over discharging, overheating and low temperature

More durable:
- Safeguard from malfunctions due to short circuit
-Loopback protection automatically cuts-off power when a cable is plugged into input/output simultaneously.

I love the classic design and texture of the charger and it's lighter in weight as compare to the other charger I had. The prices wise it's around ~SGD$30 depending on which models. I think the price is quite normal and pretty much worth the price as well since it has so many functions, durable and super portable to bring out.

The powerbanks are retailing at selected Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, Newstead and Popular outlets.

You may also want to consider taking part in GP batteries Singapore's Facebook & Instagram Contest! Contest date: start on 6 Nov to 30 Nov . All you need to do is to comment one feature (which can be found in this post) of Fast Track power bank which you think is the most important on GP's Facebook & Instagram!

Good luck!

(Youtube) Her crush and the Whatsapp blue ticks

Have you ever get messed up mentally and emotionally with the new Whatsapp double blue ticks which tells us that the messages we sent had be read by the receiver on the other end?

In case you are not sure what's the difference between the different Whatsapp ticks, here it is below:

  •  message successfully sent.
  •  message successfully delivered to the recipient's phone.
  •  the recipient has read your message.

Well, whether or not you agree with me, all of us did probably got messed up before.
It's just how serious we get there and how well we hold ourselves together to deal with this nasty truth that we ain't going to get a reply from this person. Oh well. It's not so baddd.

Personally, I had been screwed a couple of times by people and the blue ticks. It's like hanging you there and not giving you an answer. Well, of course, nobody have the obligation to reply you.

As long as you care about the person, likely you are screwed when they don't reply you. Some how, you will still question yourself why didn't they reply after reading your message.

I must say, it's actually a courtesy to at least reply people lah. I do reply if you don't ask me stupid, brainless, nonsensical question, and of course, if I like you. ;)

Wondering who is Miao Li and why the name?

Maybe I will ask her to do a short introduction of herself. Hmm.

Behind the name:

Miao Li is a name taken from one of the school stage shows I used to do. She is a ...I would say innocent, someone who imagine a lot and stupid? girl. lol. So, most of the time she won't get what you are trying to say.

So this short skit shows her trying to make her first move to ask her crush out using Whatsapp because she is too shy to call. After much debate with herself, she finally decided to pluck out her courage and text this really cute guy. This skit shows different emotions of her from being anxious, worried, sad, disappointed, happy and to..maybe..a little crazy. I believe there could be more like becoming angry.

The Whatsapp blue ticks kind of screwed her up. So....

Watch to find out what happen and how these little powerful ticks do to her thoughts and imagination. Or let just say, the crush damn power.

(YOUTUBE) Happy Mother's Day: Never Forget Her

Good morning!

I had no idea why I felt so tired yesterday. Maybe because I was up more than 12 hours. Well, I am a sleeping queen, definitely need my 8 hours of sleep.

Best of all,  I am awake to good new today; my new video had finally been uploaded on YouTube! It has been taking days to load because of my poor internet connection.

Well, the new video is basically one of the small present to my mum for this coming Mother's Day, because she wants to have a taste of how it's like being on screen and watching herself from it.

During the shoot, she was super excited and fascinated with things, even like small things. I think the "crew" on set is like...only 1 person. Or rather, I am the only crew la.  It's totally like a training session too, where I teach my younger sister how to operate the camera  etc.

No lightings/ sound system set up for this video however, which makes it even harder to film. So many things to avoid and I spotted many error in the video during editing as well. (Sweat)

But nevertheless, I try my best to whip up a simple 6 minutes short story and here it is:

It's titled "Never Forget Her" because I believe that some people might be overseas or might be too busy to make it in time to celebrate Mother's Day or drop your Mum wishes. But no matter how busy we are, we should always never forget our Mum and remember to wish them Happy Mother's Day.

This does not just apply to Mother's Day, it applies to even occasions like for example, her birthday!
Even a text, or if she doesn't use mobile phone (in my case), there are so many ways and means to make her feel important and not forgotten.

I may have been really naughty and sometimes had quarrels with my mum, but I feel that it's only right that she deserves to be treated nicely because after all she is one of those people who really really wants the best for you. Words that she said sometimes that hurts you, are usually unintentional. After all, without her, there's really no you. She is the one who decided to have you in her tummy for a whole 9 months. When you grow older, you start to see friends around you getting pregnant and you further realise that it's not easy and it's no joke. They have to go through so much to see you grow up. Not that I say until like I am very old lah. But I am at the prime age where you see people around you getting married and stuff.

In this story, I really have no idea why the daughter didn't contact Mdm Kwa (Oh by the way, it's my mum real last name) for a whole 3 years,  but I just kind of didn't plan to explain anyway. You guys can fill that mystery up and maybe share it with me. Hahaha!

I am aware that the camera positioning quite bad here, but that is because the raw version of the video is too wobbly. Which means too shaky and unstable, as we didn't use any tripod. We indeed overlook on that and thus while editing I have to keep trying to stabilise the video, cutting out many of the head spaces and angles. Well, no excuse! It will not happen again.

When all you have is yourself, with no professional or at least "know something" camera man/helper, you have to be everything. By then, you are sweating like a mad dog (how to be the actor on screen, look like shit already the make up) and it kind of still goes wrong when instructions are not well receive/understand. It's not easy to work with elderly-aged talent as well. Hehhe. >.<

However, this is a fruitful process and I definitely have to thank people who gave me advises on how to improve this before uploading it online. I did my best to make it look its best hahaha!

Hope you guys will like it and feel free to make it even more fruitful by providing constructive comments or you know if you like it, feel free to express it. :P

请多多指教啦!
母亲节快乐!
HAPPY MOTHER's DAY

Which one are you? (YOUTUBE)

Which one are you?
Watch here now! http://youtu.be/iOYJ2cXa-x4

This short story was inspired by a book I read somewhere long ago when I am young.
It is one of those stories I have read which helps me a lot in my growing up days when unhappy and bad event happened. Even till today, I keep reminding myself what it had taught me and the importance of going back on track in life.

I am definitely trying very hard to continue being the coffee bean. Especially when I am trying my best to enjoy and do the things I enjoy doing. In my industry, it's pretty hard. Negativity takes over quite easily if you aren't strong enough to motivate and convince yourself.

Since I have decided to embark on a journey of video making (like finally!), I thought this shall be the first story. Haha!

One more reason for choosing this story first is because, it's the easiest to film. :P
The only equipment I have for videoing/filming now is my dear old Canon S100 Powershot that has been with me for the past few years. I am definitely looking at better camera and much more other necessary stuff that I need to polish my video quality and all. Well IT SHOW is coming!

But, even if I have all of them, I probably will face problem such as, manpower.
I am kind of on a one-man-show now and I need all the help I can get. When you need help, the world becomes so peaceful (I can hear the sound of a  pin dropped).
:(

A little disappointed but that doesn't stop me from doing what I want to do. If anyone out there is willing to help me and so on, feel free to drop me a message. Or if you need help, ask me, I will do my best. But please don't make use of me because I will know. :( Helping people of the same passion & interest is a beautiful thing, but some people just like to spoil market or be so selfish. No idea and I am ignoring these people. :P

Alright, back to topic.

Originally, there's the sister channel, where by me and my younger sister had thought that maybe we should start putting our words and thoughts into actions instead of procrastinating throughout the years and nothing comes out.

But obviously, I wanted it more lah since I am more towards the acting and filming side. Understanding that my younger sister has her own priorities such as Cosplay, I decided to take the channel back and do it on my own with a little help from her as and when she can. So it won't stress both side, it's suppose to be fun anyway right? ^_^

So now, sister channel which is also known as Alexia Evalee a.k.a AE Productions will be group under one of the playlists on my channel.

I just wanted to do videos I like and share what I want to everyone, thus I chose to clean the channel up a little by grouping the videos into playlists.

This is my first time trying to film a short short film, I personally think it didn't turn out like what I had visualised in my head, mainly due to camera, manpower shortage, lighting, audio, location, props and not so good script and so much more.

Well, it's really not much of about good camera but it's more on the script. Now I wish I can write.
But I guess, people will improve along the way right?

Just keep doing!

I will really appreciate if you guys can give me feedback about this video and every single video that comes along :D
Most importantly, if you like it, or kind of like, or think it's not bad, do support me by sharing it with your friends, like it on youtube and lastly don't forget to subscribe to my channel for instant updates! :D

Please don't thumbs down ok HAHA! I will be so sad.
But never mind if you really have to. ;) hahaha!

I am currently cracking my brain for the next video. Till then...see you!
