[Food Review] NOTHING BUT GREEN

Why eat organic food?
  • Organic food is higher in nutrients.
  • They’re free of neurotoxins.
  • They’re supportive of growing children’s brains and bodies.
  • They are real food, not pesticide factories.
  • Organic food is not exposed to gas-ripening like some non-organic fruits and vegetables .
  • Eating organic may reduce your cancer risk.
  • Choosing organic meat lessens your exposure to antibiotics, synthetic hormones, and drugs that find their way into the animals and ultimately into you.
  • Organic food is earth-supportive.
~♥♥♥♥~♥♥♥♥~♥♥♥♥~

If you think about it, we are exposed to a host of pesticides and chemicals on a daily basis that we have no control over — from the air that we breathe to the artificial lights we have in our homes and offices. What we do have control over is what we put on our skin and in our mouths. And if you are thinking about what you can do to save the world and be environmental friendly, eating organic food will be one of the best way. ;)

Like what most people think that buying organic food are much more expensive, there is this one place where you can have organic food that taste great with an affordable price range.

"As organic as it gets"

NOTHING BUT GREEN is an Eco friendly retail cum F&B outlet located in the heart of the city. Their aim is to encourage their consumers to make educated decisions on what they buy and what they eat. This could begin with a shift in mindset. You can develop healthier eating habits by taking baby steps such as cutting down on processed snacks or items that don’t contain many natural or organic ingredients.

With that said, NOTHING BUT GREEN is also stocked with a wide selection of organic and natural alternatives, ranging from baby care, personal hygiene to beauty and household products!

LOOK AT THESE!
ლ(╹◡╹ლ)

Believe it or not, this is my first time meeting these products. Hehhh~

Gorilla Munch Munch -- Cute much?

NOTHING BUT GREEN basically serves organic food. They have very interesting menu as well, so let's take a quick look at it~.

Daily Special. -- From Monday to Friday you always have something to look forward to.
ヽ(ヅ)ノ

The veg, meat, fish and poultry are all organic, ensuring not just gastronomic safety but great flavor too. Health benefits aside, organic food just tastes better. As such, nothing on the menu here contains any MSG (Mono-sodium Glutamate) - the food simply doesn't need any artificial enhancement.

So what's up on Tuesday for my first visit at Nothing But Green?!?!?

First up (✌゚∀゚)☞ Onion Soup & Potato Miso Soup!

Both soups were served with their signature Mint Bread which is Oh So Crispy!

"AMOR" Onion Soup (SGD$4.90)

Whilst onions can't cure a broken heart, they are extremely good for it, broken or not. Onions help lower cholesterol levels and thins the blood. It's also believed that onions help to prevent cancer & lower blood sugar levels.

Potato Miso Soup (SGD$6.50)

Well if you love miso soup you will definitely be fascinated with this too!
Some facts: Miso contains essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. It stimulates secretion of digestive fluids in the stomach, restoring beneficial probiotics. Miso also strengthens the quality of blood.

WOW WOW WOW ↖(^▽^)↗

It's not easy to find a good organic tasty soup, and I would say both of them are surprisingly delicious. I love the Potato Miso Soup mainly because it's chunky enough and the potato were cooked just nice! Well, on a side note, Onion Soup is tastier than Potato Miso Soup. So if you prefer soup which are heavier in taste, go for the Onion Soup! ^_^

Greens Vegetarian Salad (SGD$6.50)

The uniqueness of this salad is the Vegetarian Floss. It adds a sweet taste to the Green Coral, Tomato, Cucumber, Wasabi Sprouts, Celery & Sweet Corn.

Normally when we hear ORGANIC food, we will automatically linked it to lot of tasteless vegetable.
Oh yes... there're lots of vegetables here as you can see from the picture above and below. LOL.

But the difference is they taste as awesome. ¯\_◉‿◉_/¯

There're two sauce to pour and mix with the vegetable and both of these sauces really compliments the salad dish well. First we have the Light Balsamic (Black/Brownish Sauce)!

And then the Creamy Caesar Dressing (White).

TADAHHHH!
Load of goodness.

They also have sandwiches!

Smoked Salmon Sandwich (SGD$11.80)

The Sweet & Salty Organic Smoked Salmon speaks for itself in the sandwich. It's served with Green Salad Vegetables & Sliced Tomatoes with a drizzle of Mayonnaise.

I don't usually eat raw salmon which we call it Sashimi. Well, smoked salmon are like half raw half cooked. I wasn't that receptive to it at first but then I decided to try since it's not like fully raw after all. I would say it's fresh and the fishy smell is not too overwhelming-- you know, like those in the market, when you smell it and you want to faint straight. (Apply to those who doesn't like that fishy smell) \(~o~)/

Next we have the mouth watering Mushroom Wrap (SGD$9.00).

What's inside the wrap? They have Onion, Mushroom, Garlic, Green Coral and Cheese!
Their wraps are made with Spelt Tortilla Wraps & served with crisps. Trust me that the organic potato chips you see beside the wraps taste as good. It's super crispy and you can literally smell it coming.

Mushroom fans like me will definitely love this. ;)) Hahahaa!

Tofu Burger!!! (SGD$5.60)

It came in with a little surprise for me because I expected a totally tofu patty or something between the burger. (ノ^_^)ノ Apparently it's a mixes of Mashed Tofu, Carrots, Potatoes with Tomato, Cucumber & Green Coral. Their Vege-Burgers are also served in an Omega-3 Flax & Chia Olive Bun with Crisps on the side. ^_^

SIDE DISHES!
Fries (Regular Size) (SGD$3.00)

What is so special about this fries? Well probably you'd already know that it's organic. These are air-fried fries which mean there's no oil involve in frying them. Cool or what?
Air-frying could help cut the amount of fats consume, and allow us to enjoy them with a clean conscience.
(✌◠▽◠) ☜(ˆ˘ˆ)

Thai Green Curry Chicken (SGD$7.80) -- One of my favourite in the list!
\(^o^)/ *.*.* \(^o^)/

You can have a choice between brown rice or normal plain rice. Well of cause brown rice will be so much healthier and better. The curry is fragrant & creamy, and it is an absolute delight for spice lovers. Even people like me who don't take spicy can't resist! I just had to get my hands on them. There is also Brinjal inside the curry!!! I love Brinjal! ^_^ ♥

Guess what?! Brinjal prevents cancer, help weight loss, good for heart, good for those with Diabetes, keep hair and skin healthy, good for constipation, helps to keeping the mind healthy and the list of good things it can do goes on and on. Awesome much! ↖(^▽^)↗

These two dishes are part of Nothing But Green's Asian Food Section on the menu!

Roast Beef with BBQ Sauce served with Brown Rice (SGD$7.80)

I personally felt that the sliced beef is a little bit stiff or you call it hard but I definitely am in love with the sauce which adds on to the taste of the beef! ^_^

As usual to end dinner, the last will be desserts!
YUMMY

Organic Brownies (SGD$5.80) & Chocolate Mousse! ♥

I have an incurable sweet tooth and could not resist sampling the chocolate brownies. This brownie is charming in its old-school simplicity. Rich, moist chocolaty squares plated with a squiggle of choco sauce.

The thick chocolaty taste really pampered me to the max that night ^_^, this little chocolate miracle will be like god high-fived you in the taste buds. (Ɔ ˘⌣˘)♥

It could be better if there's like an ice cream to top it off. ~ Organic ice cream maybe? Hehe~

After everything, I had a glass of Smooth Home-made Lemongrass Drink (SGD$3.80) & Home-made Lime Drink to complete the meal. Home-made...as natural as it sounds. Simple and nice.

RANDOM THINGS IN THE RESTAURANT:

Look at the pink salt!!!! *Screaming away like one mountain turtle*
Organic all the way ! This is my first time meeting Ms Pink Salt and it amused me much with it's pretty looks. Lol...ok whatever. Just ignore my nonsense~ (Ɔ˘⌣˘)

Anyway it tastes the same as any other ordinary salt. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

You really should visit their shop/restaurant! I feel that it's like an all in one stop to learn more about organic food at the same time filled up your empty stomach with their organic dishes and be healthy.~

Their service is also great. Their staff are friendly, affable and efficient. Service is really really important. It's like the first impression when you step into a place. Without good services, no matter how great your food is, it's simply nothing to me.

Their service is awesome. :)

Whether or not you're a health nut, Nothing But Green is worth a try. Using only organic and natural ingredients, serving simple but yet tasty enough organic food which is pretty hard to find nowadays in the modern society. A big plus as their prices are down to earth too, which means over here you don't need to fork out extra for superior quality.

Me and my Smoked Salmon sandwich. LOL. Happy face to great services.
Some services they offer also include retail and deli delivery services. You can order by calling

[Food Review] Nando's & Community Sports Club

You must be wondering why Nando's & Community Sports Club together in a post?
Well, it' s a collaboration between Community Games 2013 & Nando's ! ^^

Eat & Exercise to stay healthy!

But first we have to eat to have the energy to exercise
(Lol, one of my excuses to eat delicious food first?  :P)

Hahaha! Yummy....

A hungry man is an angry man!

Nando's have a new friend to their menu! And who is this lucky chap???
It's....
Fiery Angry Mango!

Yum Yum!

Nando's presents a ridiculously good-tasting mix of mango with its Nando's-famed PERi-PERi sauce & flame-grilled chicken. The mango smell & taste are not that overwhelming as compare to a restaurant that I went to where I only tasted mango and not the chicken. #.#

It's spicy, it's sweetish, and it's savoury. People like me who can't take spiciness can choose to go for mild.
It's available in burgers, pitas and wraps too!

Well, it's my first time at Nando's, and I love their chicken. I don't like those kind of chicken that makes you feel like you are drinking a bucket of oil into your body. Their chicken is perfect and I always go for chicken breast because I like it extra dry.

Me and my chicken breast. LOL!

Say "Hi" chicken breast....
Ok....sounds wrong.

Even though I don't take chili or spicy stuff, I actually indulged quite a bit in their garlic PERi-PERi sauce which I heard that is really good and your chicken will taste even better.

By the way, they have tomato sauce, so if you really can't take spicy stuff, not even a single bit, then just drink the tomato sauce (kidding). You can use tomato sauce instead :P.

Remember to try their new Nando's Fiery Angry Mango. They also have it in meal known as the "Angry Mango Meal" at $14.90 with 2 additional sidelines.

Now other that their chicken, I am also in love with their designer's drinks in the menu!
The glass in the center is mine, look how fast I drank it. Lol.

Let's not forget the other delicious food that I had at Nando's. Everybody said that this is the best mushroom soup, and it's definitely going to get you addicted.

Well, you must be wondering whether is it true or is it going to taste like some failed mushroom soup like Pasta Mania or thick mushroom soup like soup spoon. Neither!

It's really damn addictive can. The bread also super nice one. Me and Tiffany wasn't planning to finish the whole thing so that we can keep our stomach space a bit emptier for the other food.
In the end...we finished it. Lol!

No need to describe so much. One word - Awesome!
Just TRY ok.

We also had some...I suppose it sort of a expertize/sides. The vegetable here might look  a bit weird, but it tastes healthy. ♥

We had desserts after that.
It's doesn't tastes like regular egg tart . Something especial about it. Very hard to describe, so if you want to know how and why so hard to describe, go Nando's order and try.

This one, Hong Peng (HP)'s favourite, the Lighten up chocolate cake.
OK...and we love it too. HAHAHA!

Cheesecake!

They have quite a few desserts on their menu, a wide variety to choose from.

So after food what do you do???
Not go toilet hor!
